Society Introduction:

Society of Polymer Engineers & Technologists (SPET) is a departmental society governed by the Department of Polymer & Process Engineering, UET LAHORE. Founded back in the 2014-15 season with an initiative to create awareness of the Polymeric industrial environment among the students by creating a bridge of communication between the university’s alumni, students, and the related industries. In its ongoing history, SPET has arranged many interactive sessions, seminars, interviews, activities, and inductions for students and industries to actively part take in the society’s initiative.

General Aim:

SPET’s general and basic aim is to create awareness amongst the educational and industrial community about the ever-changing trends and innovations in the field of polymer science and technology. It also aims to provide insight into the industrial environment and to polish the skills of future industrialists and technologists with the light and success of the present ones.

Any purpose of the plan to succeed always needs a great team to do so. Hence, SPET proudly presents you the Hierarchy for the Year 2022-23


Member Details:

Manifesto:
The SPET society would like to put forward its Manifesto for the year 2022-23 based on the following agenda points:

  1. General Body Induction: For society to work properly general body inductions will be our first and most important priority with immediate effect.
  2. Observation of Important days: Like every society, SPET will also effectively be working on the observations of important days and dates in a calendar year by spreading its word through posters, captions, and social media platforms.
  3. Industrial-Academia Seminars: Seminars will be arranged on regular basis for industrial exposure of the students to the ever-changing trends in Polymers.
  4. Polymer Awareness Drive: Interactive sessions in the department will be arranged on certain topics related to polymers, Process engineering, and engineering skills between the students to polish their skills and knowledge.
  5. Out-Reached Programs: SPET will arrange outreach programs to widespread the definition of polymer and process engineering at the school and college levels utilizing it as motivational lectures for future generations.
  6. Training Sessions & Workshops: Much software is now being launched in the market to enhance the efficiency of the procedure so it will be our insight goal to arrange such sessions encouraging the learning of software and its importance.
  7. Competitions and Challenges: SPET will focus on arranging departmental-level quizzes and competitions based on the topics extracted from the course outlines.
  8. Industrial Tours: Apart from theoretical knowledge, on-field experience, and exposure is also of great importance. Hence, industrial tours should be our core focus.
  9. Society Meetings: To evaluate and keep track of our performances and discussions on upcoming events weekly and monthly meetings will be held with members and advisors and will put efforts to publish SPET’s own Magazine.
  10. Remembering Alumni: Alumni are the flag bearers of our department in the industries, SPET will reach out and will interview them about their journey, hardships, success, and advice.
  11. Cultural days: Our country is rich in tradition and culture, SPET will keep its head high by paying tribute to different cultures in our country.
  12. Faculty Meet-ups: Our teachers are the basic source of the knowledge that we possess today. Each faculty member is a core member of this polymer family hence all of them and their point of view matter. SPET will proudly arrange many interview sessions with all faculty members.
  13. Co-curricular: The strength of every society lies in its fame and repute that is mostly gained through arranging many co-curricular activities to showcase the university their importance and purpose. SPET will also arrange its activities like Sporting events in the coming year.
  14. Collaborations: SPET will try its level best to establish its relations with other societies of the University and will collaborate with other societies to achieve this feat.
